• CANADA:Leaving Okotoks , going to Swift Current.

We had to leave Eelco and Sylvia and their kids.

Sylvia already left for work, so we didn't see her anymore( sorry about this, because she's a real nice lady ).

We had a traditional 'DUTCH' breakfast, with 'kleurrijke hagelslag', that they buy in Calgary in the Dutch shop overthere.

We said goodbye and left Okotoks.

We had to get on track again, this time a long trip ahead of us.

We had to drive about 550 kms.

What took us about 6 hours of driving.

Because of this we couldn't stop alot to do some sightseeing.

But anyway we stopped for lunch and when we needed to drink, we stopped at TIM HORTONS

Tim Hortons is a take away restaurant where they serve delicious Coffee and tea with bagels, donuts and other nice cookies.

Tim Horton was a Canadian league Hockey player who had to stop playing Hockey due to a eye diseas.

He started this take away restaurant and many Canadians go there , because it's fun to be there.

Tim Hortons Died in 1974 in a car accident.

So after stopping many times we finally arrived at our next B&B.

We stayed at ' GREEN HECTARES B&B'in Swift Current .

Swift Current is a town in the Province Saskatchewan.

In Saskatchewan we're in the middle of the prairies, no more Rocky mountains.

Our Hosts were David and Esther.

They live on a farm and have some horses, some cows and even some ducks they look after.

They have a very beautiful property and there's even a creek running over their land.

We slept in the Red south Barn , with at the front a Jaccuzzi.

    The room was so adorable.

After we had dinner in the evening we went to look on the property, because they have an authentic Indian Rock with drawings and cravings on.

The Rock is tested and it's 3000 years old.

We had a wonderful stay overthere, liked it because of it's nature and because it was so relaxing.

After our walk ( together with Mary and Andy)we stayed at their room and had a little drink .

The next day we're expected at the table.

The breakfast was delicious, home made jellies, eggs with Bacon and toast and some yoghurt and cereal too.

We had a nice stay there and here are some photo's to show it :-)

    Hier enkele sfeerbeelden.

  • TROPICAL WEATHER.....

It's so hot overhere, that it's making me annoyed.

I sure don't like those tropical temperatures...

And tomorrow will be even worse..up to 33°C, but probably a little more here since we're in the east of the country.

    zon

  • MY CANADIAN TREASURES.....

While visiting the family in Vancouver Andy gave me some things I really like.

He gave me some license plates from old cars he used to buy.

    Here they are...Enjoy :-)

  • CANADA:Leaving BANFF for OKOTOKS

    calgary-stampede

Although BANFF Is a very nice city, it's very touristic we had to go on the road again.

We had a trip , about 170kms to do.

Not too far , but still we had to do it.

Becasue of all the problems we had before with the GPS system, we didn't want to arrive late in the evening.

We took highway 1 again , and after just 45 minutes driving we passed CALGARY.

I wanted to go over there, but Mary and Andy said , it would be impossible to do this, because of 'THE STAMPEDE' right then in CALGARY.

The STAMPEDE is the biggest rodeo event in Northern -America.

It lurs visitors form allover USA,CANADA and even EUROPEANS.

On the stampede are big shows and trades of catle.

All the hotels in the surrounding area are fully booked , parking space is difficult to find too.

So we continued our way to Okotoks.

    We stayed their at friends.

Eelco and Silvia and their kids Matthew and Casper.

They are originally from Holland, Rotterdam.

They moved to Canada on october 15 in 2005.

They like it there alot and will never go back to Holland.

We had a wonderfull stay overthere, talked for many hours with Eelco and Silvia, slept very well in the totally decorated basement bedroom!

Thanx Eelco and Silvia for your warm hospitality:-)

I don't have a photo of Eelco and family rightnow, but as soon Eelco sends me one I wil post it here.

  • CANADA: ON OUR WAY TO BANFF.

    117

After we spend lovely days in Revelstoke, we had to leave again and continue our route to Banff.

Banff, is a city already in the province ALBERTA.

It's a very touristic city, and is very famous.

We went to see LAKE LOUISE there.

I just loved it, what a view...What a grandeur this LAKE.

I was amazed by its beauty.

We stayed at a B&B again but this one wasn't that nice as the one we had in REVELSTOKE.

We also went out for dinner again with Mary and Andy, we ate at Giorgio's..a good place to eat, with lots of different Italian Dishes.

Here some views of Banff and Lake Louise.

    Enjoy :-)

Making all kind of animal sculptures, made with wood leftovers!

    I think they're so adorable.
